Do you dream of seeing better without glasses or contact lenses? There are plenty of tips on the Internet and “unique methodologies” promising to restore vision at home almost instantly. But how realistic these promises are?
It must be clearly understood – conditions such as myopia (myopia), far -sightedness (hypermetropy), astigmatism, as well as age -related diseases (cataract, glaucoma, yellow spots degeneration) cannot be completely “cured” with home methods alone.
They need professional diagnosis and correction or treatment.
What can really be done to keep your vision at home so that you don’t need glasses?
Although you will not be able to restore vision exercises, you can significantly improve your eye, reduce tension and perhaps slow down the progression of some problems and reduce the risk of carrying your glasses. Here are effective methods:
Rule 20-20-20
It is indispensable for those who work a lot on a computer or smartphone. Take a 20 -second break every 20 minutes of work and look at an object at a distance of 6 meters (20 feet) or more.
This helps to relax the focus muscles.
Eye gymnastics (to reduce fatigue)
Simple exercises can reduce tension and improve blood circulation:
- Palm: Rub your palms to warm up and gently cover your eyes closed for 1-2 minutes without pressing.
- Eye movements: Slowly move your eyes up-down, left-leaf, diagonally, draw “octopus”. Do without sudden movements and tension.
- Focusing: Alternately focus on the object close to the object (eg finger at 20-30 cm apart) and distant (eg a tree outside the window).
These exercises are for relaxation and accommodation training, but they do not cure myopia or astigmatism.
A balanced diet
Eye health depends directly on vitamins and trace elements. Include in the diet:
- Products rich in vitamin A (carrots, pumpkins, liver).
- Leafy green vegetables (spinach, leafy cabbage) – sources of lutein and zeaxanthin.
- Citrus fruits, berries, kiwi – vitamin C sources.
- Nuts, seeds – vitamin E and zinc sources.
- Fatty sea fish (salmon, mackerel)-a source of omega-3 fatty acids.
What should I beware of?
Critically evaluate any “guaranteed” visual visual reconstruction methods alone by exercises (such as the Beat method whose effectiveness is scientifically unproven) or dubious drops and apparatus from the Internet.
No home efforts can replace regular preventive visits to an ophthalmologist (once every 1-2 years, if there are no complaints, and more often by recommendation). Only a specialist can:
- Correctly diagnose the cause of vision deterioration.
- In the early stages, serious illnesses that may be asymptomatic (such as glaucoma).
- Appoint adequate adjustment (, lentils) or treatment.
Immediately consult your doctor if you notice: sudden deterioration or loss of vision, lightning, sudden onset of “flies”, eye pain, doubt of things.
