They have money for only a few months and will not be enough by the end of the year. In connection with the contractual relations with health insurance companies, this was stated by the Association of Hospitals of Slovakia (ANS) after the meeting of its Council.
“In the current situation and current offers from health insurance companies, hospitals have money for further operation for only a few more months. Some no longer have for employees’ payouts and try to deal with other resources. This is the real situation we meet. Unfortunately, the scenario, which we predicted in January, is fulfilled, ”said the first Vice President Ans Igor Pramuk.
Ans pointed out that its member hospitals currently have valid contracts with the largest health insurance company – the State General Health Insurance Company, until the end of April 2025. The needs of ANS for the increase in funding for all insurance companies are at least EUR 130 million. Currently, according to the Association, funds are 10 to 85 million euros.
The Association claims that additional The burden is also felt by the medical facilities as a result of the Memorandum of the Medical Trade Union with the Government. “The Memorandum was to generate additional resources in the resort, but instead caused incredible problems. The finances that the memorandum claimed was not updated in the budget, and ultimately the patients would pay for it,” Pramuk stressed. Representatives of the Association should negotiate again next week.
