The United States Department of Education cut funds for Harvard University in more than 2.2 billion euros, after the institution was reflected with a series of requirements imposed by the Trump administration. The president wants Harvard to go through what he defines as a “deep reform” that includes the end of the quota system, the policies for the integration of minorities in the US and for gender equality. Trump also wanted a review of study plans for some degrees and the implementation of a series of audits to teaching staff. Finally, the administration wanted Harvard to collaborate with federal authorities in migration policies. The university president rejected the administration’s requests, having received the support of various student associations. Former President Barack Obama also supported the university, where he studied law, as was the University of Yale, who asked Harvard not to “stop resisting.”
