Worms drilled in food: Beetle spreads to Czech households

But yeah, we really don’t want to find this in food. A drilled worm in biscuits, but also in flour, or even in chocolate, will certainly not add something good to the taste. Some will recover from such a shock for a long time. Unfortunately, the felt drill is an increasingly frequent guest in our homes.

It measures only about two to three millimeters, but it certainly will not accept us with his presence in loose raw materials, nor in ready delicacies. Who would get a taste for chocolate that almost leaves the table? Although we know well that these creatures are filled with protein and the future of gastronomy is said to belong to the worms, today for many of us is not the right time.

Beware of completed development

What you will find in foods will usually be felt drill larvae, which are drilled (as they command them), or burrow into food to have peace of mind for their undisturbed development. They don’t care that you bought the chocolate for yourself. Adults who hatch from them will then load eggs elsewhere and the cycle will not only continue, but will create a difficult expansion over time. Therefore, act quickly until you can fight against the fire army. Once he gets sufficient combat power over time, it will be difficult to overcome it.

We will meet him more and more often

The drill is not a newcomer in our households, but it is also true that even due to global food trade, today is the likelihood that we will encounter it much higher. It is often brought in the raw materials from tropical areas where the conditions are ideal for him. So we do not have to blame at all when we find it at home. Certainly it is not a bad household care, such worms can be brought, for example, even in a perfect looking bag of flour. Although we do not have to blame for its discovery in our kitchen, we can do a bit for further spread.

The fine cobwebs will reveal him

The attacked meal after unpacking it is quite easy to know. In solid foods we find fine corridors, or even small worms or larvae. In loose foods we will certainly notice fine cobwebs, which remains captured, for example, flour and the like. But once you find adults at home, you know you lost the first battle. There is nothing else to do but bring the war to the victorious end.

Act without much thought

When you discover the first attacked bag of anything, you need to act immediately. Check out all the foods and ingredients you have at home and throw away everything that shows any sign of the presence of uninvited guests. You should put the trouble -free loose ingredients into airtight containers (it really pays to buy them), wipe and wipe the pantry and cabinets in the line and food where you have not found anything, you can prevent the freezer for two days. So you can be sure that you will also destroy the last germ of the future possible problem.
