Firefighters have controlled four hours later the fire declared in the and that has seriously affected the property, located on Fernando El Católico Street, in the Grape neighborhood. The flames, which have not yet been extinguished, have also reached another annex building. Four endowments have worked in the event, in which there has not to be regretted “neither victims nor severity personal damage,” the City Council has reported.
At the moment the causes of fire are unknown. By prevention due to the strong smoke, most homes have been evicted. Other neighbors, by indication of firefighters, have been confined in their homes and have finally been able to go out by their own foot. Health officers have attended four people for minor burns, smoke inhalation, anxiety attacks and heat stroke. Among the people served there are two firefighters, 31 and 39 and a 75 -year -old woman. All have been discharged in situ, according to the same sources.
The mayor of Castellón, Begoña Carrasco, has moved to the area to supervise the fire control tasks, and has announced that the City Council will take charge of the realojo of 10 affected neighbors.
The flames, which have caused an intense column of visible smoke from different parts of the city, have spread to a single -family house on Master Ripollés Street – Anexa to Fernando the Catholic – where the facade of the affected courtyard falls. Firefighters have highlighted the complexity of the operation since the building gives to three streets.
Emergency services have received the fire notice a few minutes before six in the afternoon. To the place four firefighters have been displaced with 18 troops, a SAMU unit, two basic life support ambulances and several patrols of the local police and the National Police that have cut traffic in the adjoining streets to establish a security perimeter. Firefighters continue to work inspecting house by house to evaluate the affection of the flames.
