Despite missing the Leonine fans, the coach said he was confident of the work he is doing at Manchester United, even with the results below expected.
Ruben Amorim left Sporting midway through this season to embrace a new challenge in the Manchester United service. Although things are not running in ‘land of their majesty, the Portuguese coach praised the support that makes sense but made miss the adherents ‘Leoninos’.
“The support is unbelievable, as we are living. The stadium, the fans we have outside, the way they approach the street is completely different from what we are used to in Portugal – and I always liked it and I was always a lucky with Portuguese fans and I miss Sporting – but I tell them that we know what we are doing,” said the Portuguese coach in an interview with Dazn.
“We know that the line is very thin and that the results are that they command everything, but the only thing I can say is that we know what we are doing,” he added.
Asked about ambition for next season, Amorim says the goal “is to win the first game of the championship” but “you have to make more survive.”
“It is the only goal we have, but it is obvious that we have to be much more competitive, much more complete, otherwise it will not be possible to survive,” he said.
