The government again demanded visa of tourists from the United States, Australia and Canada on Thursday (10.abr). The measure was effective after President Lula decided not to renew the exemption of visa of citizens from these countries, revoking the previous decision of the Government (PL).

The rule should come into force on October 1, 2023, but was postponed 3 times: to January 10, 2024, then to April 10, 2024 and, finally, to April 10, 2025.
The requirement still faces opposition in. On March 19, the Senate approved a Legislative Decree bill that attempts to nullify the government’s decision, but the proposal still needs to be analyzed and approved by the House of Representatives.
