Last Wednesday (16), the Corregedoria of the Military Police of indicated seventeen military police for involvement in the death of Vinícius Gritzbach, a whistleblower . Gritzbach was murdered last year, and the inquiry revealed that 12 of these police officers are linked to a criminal organization. The Corregedoria requested that the pre -trial detention of fourteen police officers, currently detained in the Romão Gomes prison, in the northern zone of the capital, to be maintained.

Vinicius Gritzbach was shot dead on November 8, 2024, shortly after leaving Guarulhos International Airport. Before his death, he had signed an award -winning plea agreement with the São Paulo prosecutor. In this agreement, Gritzbach revealed the participation of military and civilian police in illegal activities and provided information on money laundering and financial movements of CCP members. The investigation suggests that the murder was a retaliation planned by criminal faction leaders, occurring a few days after its denunciation.

The Public Security Bureau issued a note stating that, through the Military Police Inquiry, seventeen military police were arrested. At the same time, the Civil Police investigation resulted in the indictment of eight people. Investigations are still in progress, with the objective of clarifying all the details and responsibilities involved in the case.
