Future generations are likely not to know how difficult it was to understand the doctor’s letter in medical prescriptions. That’s because hand -written ‘recipes’ have been falling into disuse for some time with the adoption of digital prescriptions. They arrive by email, SMS, Whatsapp for the patient at the time of consultation and are valid for purchases at physical pharmacies and even in delivery. The Brazilian Mevo operates in this segment and presents itself as “the main prescription platform of the largest hospitals in the country”. It is integrated with 700 health institutions, including reference hospitals, such as Syrian-Lebanese, Rede D’Or, Windmills and HCor (Heart Hospital). And now, the company has just acquired a competitor.
The acquired, in this case, is the digital revenue, a startup founded in 2017 by IHVI Aidukaitis. “She moved for miles to consult, lived the difficulty of deciphering the revenues and knew the reality of the purchase and registration of controlled medicines in the pharmacies of Rio de Janeiro,” says the company’s website about the founder’s motivation to create the business.

With incorporation, Mevo wants to further expand its base of health professionals who pass medical prescriptions. The company has a mobile app used by doctors that allows the issuance of various health documents at once and creation of models and protocols.
“The solution has features that bring security when prescribing, such as databases and exams, integrated with clinical decision support tools, with allergy alerts and drug interaction,” explains Mevo. THE healthtech also has its own market placewhere patients can buy prescribed medications and promise deliveries within 1 hour.
In 2024, Mevo received a $ 140 million contribution in a series B of investments with the participation of Matrix, Prosus Ventures, Jefferson River Capital and Floating Point. The value of acquisition of digital revenue has not been revealed.
