We maintain Easter traditions only very symbolically, we do not suffer from them. We are glad if we meet as a family and spend time together, that’s the most precious to me. I remember how parents used to hide Easter sweets in my grandmother’s garden in childhood, and we were looking for them and gathered them in baskets, I loved it. I still remember it with a smile.

Our holidays are associated with a visit to the church, preparation of food and the common Easter breakfast. We don’t have a lot of guys in a narrow family as I have a sister. Dad and grandfather formally drip us with water, fortunately they have already got used to some big soup. We don’t overdo it very much.

I have to admit that for me Easter holidays have a slightly different meaning. For me, this is a holiday that we commemorate Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins. And since I sin a lot, I have something to remember. Usually, the questioning of conscience will take me the whole holiday. While I quit questioning, it is after the holidays and go back to work.

I have to say that I don’t love Easter traditions. I was always irritated when my male side of the family literally invaded the house and began to worry and water. I feel a lot of taste for these holidays. However, I try to turn it to the holidays of the rebirth and celebration of new life, spring and spend it so that it pleases me.

As a child I had a little phobia from watering. My father and my sister always surprised us with a glass of cold water on Easter Monday in the morning and that wasn’t the most pleasant. That is why I taught my sons that it is not spoken in our country – we can shake, but also symbolically. Instead, we cook a lot, we have our favorite Easter meals and enjoy nature and that we can be together.
And our two dogs enjoy it with us (they are the Czechoslovak wolves of my son) who can freely run around the set. And of course – decoration! I love it very much – I decorate the cottage, I do ikebany, bring my twigs from the forest and decorate them with eggs, even those we kept after grandparents. And I also always buy perennials in the spring and plant them around the cottage – even if they eat them later.
