New model developed by researchers revolutionizes the way the bowling is played (and analyzes). It even takes into account a space for human error.
There are over 45 million people playing every year. But what most of these people don’t know that There is a lot of physics and mathematics in each playand mastering these sciences is the best way to get the perfect move – or do strike, that is, topple all the pins.
Now a team of scientists has developed a mathematical modelpublished in the magazine AIP Advanceswhich identifies the best way to project the ball in the bowling.
“The simulation model we created can become a useful tool for players, coaches, equipment companies and tournament designers,” said author Curtis Hooper to. “The ability to accurately predict the trajectories of the ball can lead to the discovery of new strategies and designs equipment.”
This model simulates the trajectories of the ball using advanced physics. “Also and Calculated a ‘margin of error’ To take into account human inaccuracies, which allows players to find their own ideal target strategy, ”says the expert.
The study even takes into account physical factors as discreet as the Fine layer of oil applied to the trackswhich can vary in each and requires different strategies for each track. All of this had to be placed in a language that players and coaches could understand, which was a big challenge, the researchers recall.
In the future, scientists want to further improve this model, which, according to Hooper, is already in mind “all significant factors that can affect the movement of the ball.”
