AD’s poster over the railroad was printed with gaffe
“Road? It’s rail, Luís…”
It was after a tweet of a free supporter that the Democratic Covenant (AD) was forced to correct an electoral poster that recently posted in Lisbon.
The poster, in the meantime removed, announced the creation of a “green bus pass”, when in reality what AD meant was “railway”.
The mistake was detected by several on social networks, including a free party supporter, who shared an image of the poster still in place.
Road? It’s rail, Luís… and the proposal is from Livre (PSD voted against)

AD however did not just correct the wrong word, as it did in digital formats of the proposal announcement. He also decided to completely change the poster placed in that billboard, promoting the increase of solidarity complement to the elderly.
“We have increased the solidarity complement to the elderly,” read now, the.
“We created the pass…”… But did Ad create the pass?
The incident also rekindled the discussion about the authorship of the so -called “Green Rail Pass”. THE Free claims the paternity of the proposalremembering that its “national railway” was approved in the state budget discussion to 2023.
The proposal provided for one with access to regional trains, and its progressive expansion to other national railroad services.
In turn, the government led by Luís Montenegro announced in the summer of 2024 the creation of a green rail pass, with a monthly.
The measure was approved by the Council of Ministers and came into force on 21 October 2024. Currently, the pass allows the use of almost all CP services, except for the Alpha Pendular and urban trains already covered by metropolitan passes.
