To power360, the minister declares that social development should not go into political negotiations of a possible reform
The Minister of Social Development, pushed the possibility of leaving office. In an interview with Poder360he said that the moment when a way out a way has passed and, when he went to the President (PT) to discuss the topic, he heard a “Go work” of the petista. The minister also defended a larger participation of center parties, the so -called centrão in the government.
“Look, the day that was very hot this theme, I went to him, [que respondeu]: ‘Go to work’. He said something interesting. ‘Oh, this ministry, if I could, I was named for him, so you are there because I chose you to be there’ ”said on Monday (14.abr.2025).

For days, by its area dealing with government social programs, it would not agree to improve the executive’s governability. That is, the agency would not be negotiated by support in Congress to a party. Social development has always been on the ministries lists to have their commands exchanged in a ministerial reform, but Lula always made it clear that he was not willing to have someone outside the PT in office.
“What I know President Lula, such a area, she would not negotiate just for a political arrangement. She is really the heart of the president, the heart of his government. So, my eventual departure, when this back was stronger, I said, will be someone better than me, so zero problem.”these.
Despite putting his departure from the first level of government in a distant past, the minister also argued that a competitive construction thinking about the 2026 elections is to bring more parties from Centrão to Lula’s support base.
“I argue, I say that, for the Brazilian conjuncture, we should build a path here that has a part of this block more to the center, here has a denomination of centrão. There are other things in the middle, but thus are the parties that advocate democracy, which defend a country with a condition whose goal is the development, economic development, but also social development”he declared.
