The State of Acre ended the year 2024 with 4,157 social security processes awaiting analysis by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), according to the Social Security Transparency Report released by the Ministry of Social Security. The data are contained in the latest newsletter for December.
Of the total pending issues, 2,614 are first claims for benefits and 1,036 are repeated requirements, those in which the citizen remakes the request after rejection or update of data.

Inability to benefits, such as sick pay, lead the list of processes stopped, with 2,614 requests, 1,543 of them with delay exceeding 45 days. Already the applications of retirement by age total 258 cases still within the legal deadline and 194 overdue. In the case of death pensions, 186 were under analysis on time and 180 exceeded the expected time.
Despite the lower volume of pending issues compared to states such as São Paulo (144 thousand cases) and Minas Gerais (109 thousand), Acre follows the national average regarding the waiting time for granting benefits: 42 liquid days, disregarding the periods in which the insured needs to present additional documentation.
The report also shows that, at the national level, 32% of disability assistance requests were denied, mainly due to lack of proper proof. Still, the INSS granted, in December alone, about 530,000 benefits, of which 52.5% went to temporary cases, such as the sick pay itself.
