Foreign Foreign Investment in China drops 10.8% between January and March

China attracted 269.23 billion yuans (US $ 36.88 billion) in foreign direct investment (IED) between January and March 2025, a value 10.8% lower than in the equivalent period of last year, according to data from the country’s Ministry of Commerce.

In the first three months of the year, 12,603 ​​new companies with foreign investment were established throughout the country and, in March, the actual use of foreign capital increased by 13.2% over the previous year.
