There are again Easter and with them traditional dyeing eggs. In addition to artificial colors from the store, however, there are natural alternatives. Try dyeing with onion and hibiscus. Thanks to this simple trick, your eggs get a unique, rustic look.

Easter is around the corner and the popular tradition of dyeing eggs, which inherently belongs to these spring holidays. If you long for something other than classic tones of colors from the store this year, try to give a chance to natural colors. Onion peels or dried hibiscus can create fine but surprisingly distinctive shades that give your Easter eggs an authentic and original look. In addition, egg dyeing at home is not just about the result. It is a beautiful way to slow down and enjoy the Easter atmosphere to the fullest. Especially if the whole family is involved in the creation. Together with the time at a table of scented onions and herbs, they will then turn into a nice memory that lasts much longer than the holidays itself.

Staining eggs onions and hibiscus

First, prepare the onions. Remember, the more, the better. You can cut them with scissors into smaller pieces, but if you have a blender, calmly mix them briefly. The pieces should be small enough to get easily on the shell. Pour them into a larger bowl and add finely cut white paper, ideally from an ordinary office certificate. This will help create interesting shapes and amplify the effect of natural color.

Next, pour vinegar into a separate bowl. You can use 5% or 9% stronger for dyeing. First, briefly immerse the raw eggs in vinegar to disrupt the shell surface and catch the color better. Then wrap each egg in a mixture of onion skin and paper. Press the egg mixture gently and wrap the whole egg in a clean gauze or bandage. It is important that the gauze is properly tightened and well adjacent, only by creating beautiful irregular patterns.

Put the rest of the onion peel in a pot, add water and add the prepared wrapped eggs. Add about 80 g of dried hibiscus, one tablespoon of salt and about 100 ml vinegar. Mix everything well and bring to a boil. Cook the eggs for about 10 minutes, then wean and leave them for another 40 minutes in the broth. Finally, transfer them to cold water for 2 minutes to better fix the color. And the result? Naturally marbled and brightly colored eggs that look like small works of art.

How to make eggs beautifully shiny?

In order for your Easter Easter eggs to stand out, it is enough to give them a fine shine at the end. After drying, simply rub them with a drop of vegetable oil, such as sunflower or rapeseed, and gently polish with a napkin. Not only will it light up beautifully, but at the same time the colors and details created by a mixture of onion and hibiscus are highlighted. The finished eggs can be arranged in a basket with moss, straw or twigs. The result will look natural and at the same time original. And what is the best? Each egg will be different, with a unique pattern that no bought color will offer.
