Humanitarian aid in “threatened with complete collapse” due to the exclusion imposed on the entry of aid from March 2, are warned today by twelve major non -governmental organizations in a joint statement.
“Let us do our job,” calls representatives of the world organizations, Oxfam, Norwegian Refugee Council and others who say they are facing “one of the worst humanitarian failures of our generation”.
Essentially all NGOs had to suspend or greatly reduce their help in Palestinian territory since the truce broke on March 18, these organizations underlined, citing 43 NGOs that offer assistance to Gaza.
“Every Gaza resident depends on humanitarian aid to survive. This life line has been cut completely since the Israeli authorities imposed an exclusion of aid entrance on March 2, “they write.
“We have ready supplies, we have trained medical staff. We have the necessary know -how. What we are missing is access or guarantee from the Israeli authorities that our teams can do their job with complete security, “they add.
About 400 humanitarian workers and 1,300 members of health staff have been killed by October 2023 in Gaza, recall NGOs, who cite a UN report.
“We call on all sides to guarantee the safety of our staff and to allow safe and uninterrupted access to Gaza from all the points of entry, and we ask world leaders to oppose any new restrictions,” they say.
