Good third of German companies are planning 2025 job cuts

Cologne – More than every third company in Germany wants to delete jobs this year because of the weak economy. According to Reuters, around 35 percent are planning to reduce employment from a survey by the Cologne (IW) institute of the German Economy. In autumn 2024, however, the proportion was slightly higher at 38 percent. At the same time, the proportion of companies that want to create more jobs rose from 17 to 24 percent.
