Since April 5th there is a new space in Lisbon to arouse the appetite of the most curious. Located on Avenida da República, it is a “All You Can Eat” restaurant that quickly became a success. The promise of unlimited dishes from different corners of the world is the big business card.
New concept created by Nepalese entrepreneur
The 41 -year -old Fork & Fire is Ajay Khadka, who arrived in Portugal less than two years ago. Born in Nepal, he lived two decades in the United States, specifically in San Francisco. “I moved to the US to study when I was 20,” he recalls in an interview with. There he married, had two children and began a successful career in the restoration.
Willingness to change life brought him to Lisbon
Despite success in the US market, Khadka began looking for a new lifestyle. He traveled several times to Lisbon at work, eventually falling in love with the city. “I identified myself with the capital’s cultural and gastronomic scenario,” he says. The idea of replicating your business model in Portugal was gaining strength over time.
When he arrived in Lisbon in 2023, he opened Curry King & Grill, an Indian food restaurant. The location on Avenida da República pleased him and seemed ideal to start. However, he quickly realized that customers looked for something more diverse. This led him to completely reformulate the original concept. The bet would now be broader.
Fork & Fire Restaurant is the new multicultural bet
Fork & Fire thus emerges as a strategic evolution and adapted to local taste. Now, besides Indian food, there is also sushi and even Brazilian grills. “We realize that our customers want something more diverse,” explains the entrepreneur to the same source. The new approach allows you to reach different audiences, with an offer designed for all tastes.
Orders are placed through tablets available on each table. After choosing the first dishes, customers should wait 10 minutes to repeat. This rule intends to minimize food waste. “It was a way to balance freedom of choice with responsibility for consumption,” says Khadka. The experience has been well received.
Prices vary between schedules and ages
Lunch costs 16.90 euros, while at dinner the price rises to 19.90 euros. Students benefit from a special discount, paying 15.90 euros and 18.90 euros, respectively. Children between the ages of four and ten pay less: 8.90 euros at lunch and 9.90 euros at dinner. Drinks such as sodas and beers are paid separately at affordable prices. Wines are available to the letter.
Among the available options are Portuguese, Asian and Fast Food dishes. Customers can start with sushi, go to Gyozas or Chinese crepes, and end with a curry. There is also a grill station where meat and vegetables are prepared on time. Some visitors go exclusively to the Temakis and Niguiris, others prefer hamburgers.

Desserts are also part of the buffet
The policy of “eating everything you can” extends to desserts. Cakes, ice cream, traditional sweets and international suggestions are included in the experience. Customers can repeat the times they want. The goal is to provide a complete meal from start to finish. Only drinks have an additional cost.
Space has three floors
The restaurant is distributed over three floors and has a capacity of about 80 people. The main room, on the first floor, accommodates 60 customers, while the intermediate welcomes 12. The top floor is reserved for groups. The decoration was thought of green and yellow tones, with highlighted wood. All thought to provide comfort and functionality.
The choice of name also reflects the spirit of space. “Fork represents the gastronomic experience, while the Fire captures energy, heat and central culinary techniques,” explains the owner. The decoration reflects this fusion between modernity and tradition. The bet is to create an appealing and functional environment. The brand wants to be recognized by the strong identity.
Another aspect that distinguishes Fork & Fire is its inclusive policy. “Pets owners are welcome,” says Khadka. The space allows dogs to enter, which pleases many customers. The initiative has been praised on social networks. It is another way of adapting to current consumption trends.
It is also pet friendly
The public’s response has been ‘extremely’ positive since the opening. The high number of reserves is a reflection of the generated interest. Multicultural concept and technological service have helped create a differentiating experience. Khadka is still committed to making Fork & Fire a reference in Lisbon.
