Nadine Heredia and her husband, former Peruvian president Ollanta Humala (2011- 2016), were a 15 years in prison For money laundering, accused of receiving illegal resources from Odebrecht and the Venezuelan government. Both deny the accusations.

The trial lasted 3 years, when the former president claimed political persecution.

Humala is the 2nd Peruvian president arrested and the 4th involved in the Odebrecht case, which was renamed Novonor in 2020.

Heredia arrived in Brazil on Wednesday (16.br.2025) with a FAB plane (Brazilian Air Force).
