In the early hours of Thursday (18), the São Paulo Military Police was able to recover a load of 25 tons of cod that had been stolen in Guarujá. According to the police report, the truck driver was waiting to carry the vehicle at a customs terminal. During the wait, he was surprised by an armed criminal who forced him to drive to the city of Santos. There, the driver was left by the criminals and taken to Itanhaém, near Santos. After being released, he sought help at a fire department, which began the cargo recovery operation.
With the information provided by the driver, the police were called and started a search for the stolen load. Investigations led to a suspicious shed, where the load was being discharged. At the scene, four men, aged 25 to 51, were arrested in the act while transferring the truck’s cod boxes. All involved were arrested in the act and taken to the fifth police district of Santos. During the operation, police also seized two radiofrequency signal blockers, three GPS detectors and cocaine portions. The case was registered as theft.
