United States President Donald Trump said on Friday that his country will soon “abandon” mediation to end the war in Ukraine if there is no progress by Kiev and Moscow. American Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington will move away if peace between Moscow and Kiev is not “viable.” “Yes, very soon,” replied reporters in the Oval Hall when asked if the statement would confirm.
“There is no specific number of days, but we want this to be done quickly,” he added. Trump refused to blame Russian President Vladimir Putin, who ordered the large -scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, or his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodimir Zelensky.
However, he insisted that both sides need to move forward. “Now, if for some reason one side makes it very difficult, let’s just say, ‘You’re idiots. You’re some idiots. You’re horrible people,’ and let’s go,” Trump said. “But I hope we don’t have to do that,” he added.
