The Ukrainian president today accused the special envoy of his US counterpart, Steve Whitkov – who is involved in negotiations with Moscow with the aim of reaching an agreement to cease fire in – that he “spreads the Russian narrative”.

“I think Mr Whitkov has adopted the strategy of the Russian side. I think this is very dangerous because it consciously or unconsciously spreads the Russian narrative, “Zelenski said in a press conference he gave to Kiev.

Steve Whitkov has met Russian President Vladimir Putin three times since last February, as part of Trump’s diplomatic efforts to settle the conflict in Ukraine.

Kiev wants to buy “at least” 10 Patriot anti -aircraft defense systems, President Zelenski said. “Ukraine is ready to buy at least ten patriots. I discussed this number with President Trump during our telephone contact. He told me that the US would work on it, “he said.

The Ukrainian president also said that although Russia has reduced attacks on energy facilities, it is increasing blows on other non -military infrastructure. “They really reduced the blows to energy facilities … But I would like to pay attention to it: Russia did not reduce the number of attacks. By limiting blows to energy facilities, it increases blows to other non -military infrastructure, “Zelenski said.

Three years after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Moscow troops hold almost 20% of Ukrainian territory.
