The old curtains of his grandparents are embroidered by hand, made of cotton canvas, slightly starch and with lace trim. When putting the announcement on the Internet the answer was immediate. A collector from France contacted her and undoubtedly paid 50,000 Czech crowns (2,000 euros) for a couple that originally cost 10 crowns (40 euro cents).

It was curtains with a hand embroidery with the technique called crewelof small typical flowers of the Eastern European style. The curtains, in addition, were well preserved, clean and seemed almost new.

The floral or geometric motifs, often specific to each region, are common in Eastern Europe, especially Czechoslovakia, where there was a strong tradition of textile production. There they operated brands such as Hedva or Veba, whose products can still be found today in homes and collections.
