President of the Supreme Court met with authorities of the Japanese judiciary and gave a lecture at Expo 2025 Osaka
The president of the (Supreme Court) ended his trip to Japan on Friday (18.abr.2025). The minister visited the country for a week of institutional commitments that began on April 11.
He passed the cities of Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. He met with authorities from the Japanese judiciary and directors of law universities. He also lectured at the Brazilian Expo 2025 Osaka Pavilion.
In Tokyo, Barroso met with Japan’s Supreme Court President Yukihiko Imasaki. He also met with Justice Minister Keisuke Suzuki and the president of the Japanese Federation of Lawyers Associations, Reiko Fuchigami.
He visited educational institutions, such as the Institute of Legal Training and Research and the Faculty of Law of the University of Tokyo. He did the same in Kyoto, before going to Osaka, where he lectured at the Brazilian Institutional Stability, Legal Security, and Brazil’s Business Environment at the invitation of Apex (Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency).

Barroso took advantage of the 11 days, without sessions due to Easter and Tiradentes Day. The Court has only maintained the plenary’s virtual sessions and a team of the president’s office on duty to meet any emergencies.
The other Superior Courts and the Federal Court also without work for the holidays.
