The photo gallery of former presidents of the Republic in the Planalto Palace presents errors in the names of former chiefs of the executive of Brazil and on birth dates. There are also inaccuracies that go back to historical controversies, such as the year in which João Goulart was born.
The images are exhibited in the main hall of the building. The errors were identified by . To the newspaper, Secom (Presidency Communication Secretariat) said that the inaccuracies were due to typing problems and will be corrected.
Here’s the errors found in the presidential gallery:
- Getúlio Vargas -The date of birth is in the gallery as April 19, 1883, but at the Presidential Reference Center indicates that Getúlio was born in 1882-the center is part of the National Archive and gathers identification data from all former chiefs of the executive;
- Fernando Collor de Mello – There is a spelling error of his middle name, Affonso, who appears as Afonso in the Gallery on Planalto; Both in, it is spelled as Affonso;
- João Goulart – The year of birth of Jango, as he was known, appears as 1918. There is a historical controversy, because he was born in 1919, but his father ordered a 2nd birth certificate to be issued with the date of 1918 so that Jango could enter the law school of Porto Alegre. The Reference Center for Presidential Collections as well.
