Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made a cautious assessment of the second round of negotiations with the United States on a nuclear agreement.
“There is no reason for much optimism, and there is no reason for much pessimism,” Araye told the Iranian state media after ending indirect negotiations with the US special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff. The meeting took place this Saturday with indirect meetings, with the authorities separated by rooms in Rome, mediated by Oman.
According to the Iranian Minister, the technical teams on both sides will negotiate next week to discuss the details of a possible agreement and the high -ranking authorities should meet next Saturday (26). Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei classified this Saturday’s negotiations as “useful” and said they occurred in a “constructive atmosphere”.
So far, the United States have not spoken out about the meeting. President Donald Trump has been pressuring for a quick deal with Iran.

Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on social network X that the parties agreed to continue talking to seek an agreement.
