The contingent may increase if three other governors who feed presidential projects give up and opt for the Senate as a plan B:, Ratinho Jr. (PSD-PR) and Ronaldo Caiado (União-GO).
On the other hand, if the MDB can get it as vice in Lula’s plate to reelection.
Another unique case is Romeu Zema (Novo-MG), who has said he has no interest in a senator’s mandate and just consistent to run for the presidency or be vice of someone.
Another 9 governors put the candidacy for reelection as a priority electoral plan. The list includes, but may be taken to a presidential candidacy instead of Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
The only governor who has already stated that he does not intend to dispute election in 2026 is Alagoas Paulo Dantas (MDB), who meets the second term and should be in office until the end.
