Meeting is at a strategic moment for global geopolitics; will be held from June 3 to 5

The National Congress will host the 11th edition of the BRICS Parliamentary Forum from June 3 to 5. The event should bring together representatives of 31 legislative houses and about 150 parliamentarians from various countries.

Held since 2015, the forum seeks to strengthen cooperation between the parliaments of the BRICS countries – which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. This year’s block summit will be held in Rio de Janeiro from July 6 to 7.

The Forum should also receive representatives from the Bloc partner countries, a category that welcomes nations interested in integrating the bloc in the future as full members.

The group’s expansion takes place at a strategic moment when the block seeks to consolidate a new multipolar architecture in international relations, as an alternative to traditional models of global governance.
