São Paulo club owes values related to gloves, bonuses and image rights
O obtained the release of about R $ 7.7 million from Conmebol in advance. The value corresponds to the award for the match and victory over Talleres, at the team’s debut at Libertadores, on April 2, 2025. The information was released by ge this Friday (18.abr.2025)
The request was made by the tricolor board to reduce debts with the cast. Currently, the club owes values related to gloves, bonuses and image rights. Part of the delays stems from bureaucratic issues, such as the issuance of invoices.
The request came from President Julio Casares and was sent to CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues.
As Conmebol passes the amounts to national federations, it was up to CBF to release funds to the club. In the case of Libertadores, payment per game away from home is $ 1 million. The victory yields another US $ 330 thousand (R $ 1.9 million).
The amount would only be passed on next week, but was released 7 days in advance. Nevertheless, the measure does not cover the entire debt to the group. The board has not yet paid the award promised by 6th place in the 2024 Brazilian Championship.
With financial difficulties, São Paulo ended 2024 with a total debt of R $ 968.2 million.
