The long -awaited Tesla plans for an affordable car include a small version of its best -selling electric SUV, the Model Y, which will be manufactured in the United States, but the production of the production was postponed, three sources with knowledge of the subject told Reuters.
Tesla promised accessible vehicles from the first half of the year, offering potential sales for sales. Global low -cost Model Y production, Codinome internal E41, is expected to start in the United States, the sources said, but at least months later than Tesla’s public plan, they added, offering a series of revised third -quarter goals by the beginning of next year.
Two of the people said Tesla intends to produce 250,000 of the cheapest Model YS in the United States in 2026. There are also plans for eventual production of the new vehicle in China and Europe, Reuters said earlier. Production delay and production target in the US were not previously informed.
Tesla releases its results on Tuesday, and plans for new vehicles are an important issue.
