Check when to cut narcissus in the garden. You will hurry up, you will lose the flowers

Narcissa are beautiful flowers that attract attention with their yellow, intense color. Most often they flourish in March and bloom even until May. After flowering, they should be cut. If we want them to grow beautifully in the next season, we must cut them at the right time.

Narcissa in the next season can grow out of the same bulbs, however, to make it happen, it is worth taking care of them. First of all, after flowering, the whole plant should not be removed – this is a serious mistake that can damage the bulbs, and thus for the next year, may not make flowers. Seed flowers must be removed on a regular basis, but green leaves should stay. It is thanks to them that the plant can store the necessary energy and be able to flourish again next season.

We leave the leaves by the plant until they turn down. The custom is a few weeks after the narcissus is faded. In July, most leaves should be dried, then we can get rid of them gently – it’s best to use a small pruning shears or ordinary scissors.

Usually, there is no need to dig the bulbs every season, but we must remember that they will bloom less over time. Which is why Every 2-3 years they can be dug and dry. We wait for the leaves to dry, then in July we dig out of the ground. They should be put in the sun to dry, it usually takes about 2 weeks. Then put them into the container and cover them with sand. This is how they should be stored until September. In September, we plant them again in the ground.

If you have a narcissus in a pot, let them go through naturally and dry the leaves. This principle applies to most flowers – this will allow them to yellow in the right time, and we will be less exposed to damage to the delicant parts of the plant.
