China has increased coal imports from Russia to 7.33 million tonnes, which is a year -on -year increase of 6 %, despite sanctions and logistics complications.
Last month, China increased coal imports from Russia to more than 7 million tonnes despite Western sanctions and logistics complications. This was pointed out by the Chinese Customs Office on Sunday. Reuters informed about it.
According to the customs office, China imported 7.33 million tonnes of coal in March. In a year -on -year comparison, this represents an increase of about 6 %.
China also imported more coal than a year ago in March and Mongolia and Australia, and especially in the case of the second state, the increase in imports was significant. A total of 4.4 million tons of coal brought Australia, which represents 14 %compared to March last year. From Mongolia, it increased imports by 5 % to 6.81 million tonnes.
Indonesia continues to be the largest coal supplier to China, but imports from this country declined by 9 % to 17.96 million tonnes. The total coal import to the largest Asian economy in March fell by 6 %. The reason is the weaker domestic demand and high reserves in ports.
