The memory of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the basis of the Christian faith, is celebrated on Sunday by Christians in Slovakia and the world. Easter Sunday, also called the Easter Sunday of the Lord’s Resurrection, is the culmination of the greatest Christian holidays of the Church Year.
During the solemn worship, the believers, together with the bishops and priests, rejoice in Christ’s victory over death. They commemorate the winning culmination of Jesus’ redemption role and hope for eternal life, that he brought to mankind.
In the Greek Catholic Church on Sunday Passover has been made from early morning hours when the resurrection is held with the traditional sanctification of meals.
