A pre-hospital emergency technician of INEM was assaulted during an incident in Gondomar, in the district of Porto, suffering trauma in the face. The incident occurred on Saturday night and also involved threats to the remaining team.
A technician from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) was beaten and suffered trauma in the face during an emergency on Saturday night in the municipality of Gondomar, in the district of Porto, was today revealed.
In a Facebook social network publication, INEM states that a pre-hospital emergency technician, at the service of Gondomar’s immediate life support ambulance “was the victim of aggression” and the remaining team, SIV and Gondomar firefighters, “threatened”.
Contacted by Lusa, the PSP Port Metropolitan Command stated that the aggressor was identified and that it is the victim for which medical care had been called.
The PSP prepared the occurrence auto and referred the case to the prosecutor.

The coach, who suffered trauma in the face, was taken for observation at the Santo António Hospital in Porto.
“INEM deeply regrets this incident and recalls that the work of all professionals who are dedicated to prehospital emergency must be respected, supported and defended.”
Defending that professionals “give each mission the best of themselves”, INEM considers “absolutely unacceptable” what happened.
“INEM will activate all legal means at their reach for the defense and protection of its professionals,” he adds.
Second any worker in the areas of health and education is joining the list of professionals against which the aggression is likely to “reveal special censorship or wickedness” and which can be considered offense to qualified physical integrity.
