The resurrected function was attended by the President and Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobianin, along with other believers, danced by the head of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Cyril, a faithful supporter of the Russian leader and the war.
A few hours, for which Kiev said they were just words as the battles continue, Putin and Sobyanin went to the main church of Moscow, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
Holding a thin red candle and wearing a dark suit, white shirt and red tie as well as last years, the Russian leader made his cross several times when Cyril said “Christ Risen”.

Cyril supports the war in Ukraine
“Constant and fair peace can be established in the extensive territories of historical Rousse,” said Cyril, according to the state -run RIA news agency, in a reference to the medieval territory of the country that included parts of its current countries, Belarus. “How wonderful it was, not to hurt the other and not to behave to others as you would not want to behave in you,” he said according to the TASS news agency.
“If people complied with this festive command, then life would be completely different: family and social life and – allow me to say – intergovernmental relations,” he said.
Cyril has strongly supported the war in Ukraine, now in his fourth year. Thousands have been killed, in the vast majority of Ukrainians, and millions have been forced to leave their homes after Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
