Slovakia was hit by a sad report: former Minister of Economy Jaroslav Kubečka († 90) died

On Saturday (April 19) at the age of 90, the Slovak economist, the last federal Minister of Economy of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic (CSFR) and the second Minister of Economy after the establishment of the independent SR Jaroslav Kubečka died. TASR informed his son about death.

Jaroslav Kubečka was born on 27 October 1934 in Turá Lúka in the district of Myjava. He graduated from secondary education at the Grammar School in Myjava. In 1958 he graduated from the University of Economics in Bratislava. He joined politics in 1989. In 1990 he became Deputy Minister of Industry in Prime Minister Milan Čič. After the appointment of Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar, in August 1990 he became Deputy Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic and remained until June 1992, including during the reign of Prime Minister Ján Čarnogurský.

In 1992, Kubečka nominated HZDS to the Federal Government of the CSFR, where he held the post of Minister of Economy and was also entrusted with the management of the Ministry of Strategic Planning. The Ministry of Economy led by 31 December 1992, ie to the extinction of the CSFR. After the establishment of the independent SR in March he was appointed Minister of Economy in the government of Prime Minister Vladimir Meciar. He stayed in this post until November 10, 1993, when he was replaced by Ján Ducký.
