Tavira celebrates April 25 with spring show and outdoor concerts

Tavira points out the 51st anniversary of April 25 with a special program that is part of the Spring Show, an event that runs from April 25 to 27 in the city of the city, covering spaces such as Rua do Cais, the Gardens of Coreto and Palmeiras and the Ribeira Market.

This event celebrates not only the freedom achieved with the blackhead revolution, but also local identity, in particular Tavira’s recognition as a representative community of the Mediterranean diet, immaterial cultural heritage of UNESCO humanity.

With more than 100 exhibitors and 60 stands, the Spring Show has a vast selection of traditional products and characteristic crafts of the county and the region, praising the cultural authenticity and ancestral knowledge of the community. The event has free admission and offers a diverse program designed for all ages.

On April 25, in addition to raising the flags in the Paços do County, will take place at 10:30, at the Álvaro de Campos Municipal Library, the commemorative solemn session with interventions by the Municipal Assembly, José Manuel Guerreiro, the representatives of political parties with a seat in the municipal bodies and, to end, the president of, Ana Paula Martins. Throughout the day, the show will feature workshops for children, street theater, puppet shows and performances by the Santo Estêvão Folkloric Rancho, Pearls do Gilão Group (Soamtt) and Historioscope Theater. At night, the Ribeira Market hosts the Cristina Branco concert sings José Afonso, an evocation felt to the singer symbol of freedom.

The program continues on April 26, with new street theater sessions, children’s shows, accordion, folklore and, at night, the UHF – the inheritance and thunder concert, which will also take place at the Ribeira Market. Already on the 27th, highlight the morning walk and the performance of the Folkloric Ranch of Tavira, the Singing Group Searas de Autumn, and for the artistic closure with the performance “April” of D’Adance Cia.

The celebrations of April 25 in Tavira thus gain a new breath through the spring show, which combines civic celebration, popular culture and dynamization of public space, in honor of memory, freedom and identity of the county.
