Deputy Mayor of, the colonel wants military police to be responsible for giving physical activities for children and adolescents in squares and parks in the city.
The participating PMs would be those who make up the (kind of “official beak”) and have training in Physical Education.
The intention is to start the activities this semester with up to 100 police officers and, gradually, bring together 200 officers in the program.
Enthusiast of physical activities, Mello, Retired PM colonel and former Rota commander, believes the project will also help the policeman better deal with stress load.
“If it is not for the child to follow the high performance, they will be good citizens,” says the deputy of (). “And for the police it will be good, because physical education relieves stress. It’s a pleasant activity, and the policeman will earn a salary for it.”
Araújo says that classes will be offered in the school contract and public facilities of the São Paulo City Hall. “We have many parks, squares with multi -sport court, buildings with mat, pool,” he says.
The delegated operation, the result of an agreement between the city hall and the, was created for PM agents to reinforce policing during their clearances.
