Pope Francis tried his whole soul for peace in the world. He was most characterized by the relationship to ordinary people. In response to the death of the Holy Father, this was stated by former President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovič.

“It is a pity that he left because I considered him a Holy Father who understood the time. He has always turned to those who decide on peace and tried his soul in the world. It is stated in the statement of the former President of the Slovak Republic, which TASR provided by his former spokesman Marek Trubač.

Gašparovič was the first Slovak president to visit the Holy Father in 2013 and at the same time invited him to visit the Slovak Republic. Pope Francis died on Monday morning at the age of 88.
