(Reuters)-Alphabet’s Google faces a historic trial on Monday, when the US antitrust authorities in Washington try to force the technology giant to sell their Chrome browser as part of an attempt to restore competition on the online search engines.
The US Department of Justice is going to trial after two major legal wins against Google, having obtained a decision in August that Google monopolizing the search.
The trial comes in the wake of a victory in a Virginia court on Thursday, when a judge ruled in a separate antitrust case than the.
The result of the trial can fundamentally reshape the internet by depriving Google as the online information portal.
Google plans to appeal the final decision of the case.

“When it comes to antitrust remedies, the US Supreme Court said” caution is critical “DOJ’s proposal plays this caution to the wind,” Google executive Lee-Anne Mulholland said in a statement on Sunday.
US district judge Amit Mehta is scheduled to supervise the three -week trial in the same court where the goal is facing his own antitrust trial on Instagram and WhatsApp acquisitions.
The United States Department of Justice and a coalition of 38 state attorneys have proposed long-range measures designed to quickly open the search market and give new competitors an advantage.

Its proposals include the end of exclusive agreements in which Google pays billions of dollars annually to Apple and other device suppliers to make Google the standard search engine on its tablets and smartphones.
