Italian news agency advances with possible cause of the death of Pope Francis

Francisco, who was 88, died on Monday at Papal Casa Santa Marta residence in Vatican City at 7:35 am (06:35 in mainland Portugal).

The causes of Pope Francis’ death “should probably be made public” after the official declaration of the death of the Pontiff, scheduled for 20:00 local (19:00 in Lisbon), today announced the press services of the Holy See.

Sources cited by the Italian news agency Ansa are advancing that brain hemorrhage was the possible cause of Francisco’s death and not the respiratory problems resulting from recent bilateral pneumonia.

Matteo Bruni, director of the Vatican Press Room, indicated, however, that the transfer of the Pope’s body to the Basilica of St. Peter to honor all the faithful could occur on Wednesday morning.

According to Matteo Bruni, quoted by ANSA, the following protocol will be defined and released on Tuesday, after the first meeting of the cardinals congregation.
