A 14 -year -old was killed on Saturday by a lion on the outskirts of Nairobi, her capital, the wildlife service (KWS) that manages the country’s fauna announced today.
The lion’s attack took place on a farm south of the Nairobi National Park. Another teenager was an eyewitness and alerted authorities, KWS said in her statement.
“KWS rapidly intervening rapidly and found traces of blood leading to the Bagathi River. There the young girl was found dead, who had injuries to the lower back. The lion was not found in the area, “the service added.
Rescue groups comb this zone and have set up a trap, trying to catch the animal.
The service also reported that a 54 -year -old man was killed by an elephant on Friday in Nieri County in Central Kenya. She expressed her condolences to the families, stressing that she is working closely with local security forces and residents for the safety of people living near areas of protected species. In this context, she called for investments to be made to install alarm systems and intensify her cooperation with residents.
