Putin fills Zelensky's pockets

The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, said Monday that he will study the Ukrainian proposal to declare a truce against the attacks against all the civil infrastructure, after ending the fire during the Orthodox Easter.

“With regard to the proposal not to attack the facilities of the civil infrastructure, this must be studied,” Putin said in statements to the journalist close to the Kremlin Pável Zarubin, which has reproduced them on his Telegram channel.

The Russian president has assured that kyiv, by proposing to extend the truce for 30 days, seeks to recover the initiative, although it has been in favor of thinking about it and analyzing the results of the fulfillment of the truce, where both sides mutually accused themselves of violations.

Putin recalled the brutal Russian attacks against the regions of Sumi and Dnipropetrovsk, where more than fifty civilians died. He has acknowledged that, in the case of Sumi, the installation was civil, but, at the same time, he stressed that a ceremony for the delivery of medals to military took place, which he has called “criminals” for allegedly committing misdeeds in the Russian region of Kursk.

“And they received their punishment. That was done precisely to punish them,” he said. He also recalled that the Ukrainian military used a restaurant for meetings, as in the case of Krivi Rig, hometown of the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, in Dnipropetrovsk. “They celebrate, drink vodka and others. Is it a civil infrastructure? Civil. But what was the objective? Military,” he said.

Therefore, he has called to analyze the situation “in detail”, it may be that “bilaterally included.” “We do not rule it out as a result of a dialogue. So, we will analyze everything and make the corresponding decision,” he said.

At the same time, Putin stressed that “in general” a reduction in enemy’s military activity was observed during the Pascual truce. “That is true (…) I greet you and we are willing to take it into account for the future,” he said, and stressed that Moscow has always “positively” valued peace initiatives.

Russia announced on Monday morning the resumption of military actions in Ukraine after the term midnight from the Easter truce ordered by Putin, and seconded by the kyiv authorities. “At the end of the vigor of the truce, the Russian armed forces continued the special military operation,” said the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the military part, during the truce, between 18.00 Moscow time from the 19th to 24.00 on the 20th, (15.00 and 21.00 GMT, respectively) the Russian troops “strictly fulfilled the regime of high fire and remained in the positions they occupied.” Despite this, both Russia and Ukraine accused each other of breaking the brief high fire.

The Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, proposed last night, after highlighting that this Sunday there was no Russian attacks with long distance drones or with missiles, extending to thirty days the high fire in air attacks against civil infrastructure, a proposal that, until now, had not found echo by Moscow.
