Klaus Schwab is leaving the forehead for more than half a century, and the Board of Directors expressed his gratitude for his tireless leadership.
The founder of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab will withdraw from the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Organization. This was stated on Monday WeF in the official announcement. Informed DPA.
“Based on my recent announcement and the fact that I entered the 88th year of my life, I decided to withdraw with the immediate effect of resigning as Chairman and the WeF Board member,” Klaus Schwab said. The current WeF Vice-President Peter Brabeck-Eletmat will be the temporary chairman.
Schwab’s departure from the management of the organization occurs in a situation where the interest of the world political and economic elite in a meeting in the Swiss ski resort Davos is declining. Recently, the annual meeting of WeF has been increasingly overshadowing the Munich Security Conference.
The Board of Directors expressed gratitude to Schwab for 54 years of “tireless leadership” WeF. At the same time, she added that in a period of sharp changes, the dialogue is even more important than ever. Klaus Schwab founded WEF in 1971 and has been the head of the organization since then. The World Economic Forum, based in Geneva, has gradually become one of the most important meetings of world politicians, entrepreneurs, scientists and civil society representatives.
