Shortly after his election, Pope Francis greeted the gathered people very simply: Buon Sera, a good evening. Farewell to both believers and global audiences was also very simple on Easter Sunday: Buona Pasqua. Between these two greetings, František’s story of humanity and courage took place for years. He proved that he is not just a walking white suutan.
Revolution without noise
Despite the grandeur of their intentions and messages, religious institutions also contain serious risks inside. Many in God’s name are losing themselves, and they still have admiration or posthumous stay on the altars. Pope Francis brought with him a personal story that did not throw out of the window of the Vatican Palace on the office.
One of the Pope’s biographies mentions Bergogli’s passion for Tango. He danced him in the 1950s in Buenos Aires, despite the fact that the dance had no rumor. He was already close to the edges of the company.
In this “tango” he continued as a pope, although many restricted him. It is understandable that sometimes he stepped painfully on the edges of someone’s leg, or lost the pace for a moment. Or he rushed to the next round and did not reach the previous one.
In the last memorial book that came out under the title HopeFrancis proved to be a poetic and witty, sensitive to tender, simple and grateful man. It was not a final pose, which was the overall nature of his pontificate.
Completely freely changed the old ways
In institutions such as the Roman Catholic Church, things have been moving for centuries, slowly and regardless of small human fates. In documents – encyclicals, dogmas and council statements. Then there is an imperceptible revolution when someone shows an important personal spell and in full freedom and without asking the consent of the listeners, it changes the old ways.
A typical demonstration of this approach was the situation associated with Slovakia. During the visit of Bratislava he was worth a meeting with Archbishop Bezák. It took place in a nice generous atmosphere. The Pope could try it differently. Making order in the Congregation, reading the relevant files, issuing rehabilitation decreens and asking that nothing like this happens.
He chose the human interest and support of the weaned bishop without the futile structural change. Certainly once in the future will talk and write about the Francis era in the Church. She was attractive to most of the world, paradoxically, she was most defended by believers frightened of uncertainty.
Now is the time for a different style. František’s successor will have to risk changes in another kind. Spended by a regular vocabulary, it will also have to look powerful. It remains to be hoped that in addition to all this, the world will not lose interest in the head of the Roman Church and will listen to it critically, but with emotion.
