Greek salad This is one of the most popular dishes Mediterranean cuisine. It is very simple and quick to prepare, and in addition it contains a lot of fresh vegetables. It works perfectly as a light lunch, addition to dinner or a summer party snack. Thanks to the combination of juicy tomatoes, crunchy vegetables and salt feta, it impresses not only with its taste, but also with appearance. It is worth adding that tomatoes, onions and olive oil are ingredients that perfectly support a healthy cardiovascular system.
To prepare this dish, you will need:
- 2-3 mature tomatoes,
- 1 fresh cucumber,
- 1 red pepper,
- 1 small red onion,
- 1 A handful of black olives (preferably Greek),
- Ok. 150 g Sera Feta,
- 2-3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil,
- fresh or dried oregano,
- Salt and pepper to taste.
You can serve a ready salad with bread, a piece of grilled meat or fish.
Wash all vegetables thoroughly. Cut the tomatoes into larger particles or cubes. Peel the cucumber (optional) and cut into slices or semi -slices. Clean the peppers from the seed socket and cut into thin strips. Cut the red onion into thin feathers.
In a large bowl, combine all chopped vegetables. Add black olives – you can leave them in whole or cut them in half. Cut the feta cheese into cubes and place the salad on top or mix gently with vegetables, depending on your preferences.
Sprinkle with olive oil, sprinkle oregano and season with salt and freshly ground pepper. Watch out with salt – feta and olives are already quite salty.
Greek salad tastes best after preparation, served with crunchy bread or as an addition to grilled dishes.
