Died on Monday (21), a reference in economic coverage at the age of 87. The cause of death has not been disclosed so far.

Na SheetMolina was a market editor and world editor. He also had a passage through the Abril group, where he was the first editor of Exame magazine. He also worked for almost three decades at Gazeta Mercantil, where he was editor-in-chief and correspondent in London.

Born in Spain, Molina arrived in Brazil with her mother, at 17, deciding to stay in the country, even after she left. He became and dedicated himself to writing books on the history of the press.

He is the author of “The Best Newspapers in the World – a view of the international press”, published in 2008 by Publishing Globo, and began the trilogy “The History of Brazilian Newspapers”, whose first volume arrived in bookstores in 2015 by Companhia das Letras.

As a result of decades of research, the first volume recovered the history of Brazilian newspapers between 1500 and 1840, giving readers an unprecedented view of how the press constituted the country, traveling the years when the Portuguese court settled in Rio de Janeiro until independence.

Molina will be buried on Tuesday (22), at Morumby Cemetery, in the Morumbi neighborhood, in the south of São Paulo. The wake will start at 14h.
