Zelenski, Trump and Macron, among the heads of state who will attend the Pope’s funeral
Several heads of state and government have already confirmed that they will participate in the funeral of Pope Francis, which will be held on Saturday at 10.00 in the Plaza de San Pedro, in the Vatican.
President Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, plans to travel to Rome to attend the ceremony, according to Tuesday, sources from the Ukraine Presidency to the country’s public agency, UKRinform.
The French president, Emmanuel Macron, has also announced that he will be present at the funerals, as well as his US counterpart, Donald Trump.
Another of the attendees is the Brazilian president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who said Monday that, with the death of Pope Francis, “the world loses a voice of respect and reception to others” and decreed seven days of mourning in the country.
The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, has canceled her international agenda for the next few days to be able to attend the funeral on Saturday.
The interim president of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, will represent his country at funerals, confirms his office.
