Club got 5.17 million euros of program that compensates for clubs for release of players for teams
Manchester City, from 2020 to 2024, the receipt of benefits from the club benefit program, which aims to compensate for clubs for the release of players for national teams.
The team got 5.17 million euros in the period, the largest amount among members of the European Football Association, according to the agency published this Thursday (22.br.2025).
UEFA has reported that it distributed 233 million euros to 901 clubs of its 55 member associations, regarding the participation of players in seasons 2020-21 and 2022-23 of the League of Nations, the 2022-24 Euro qualifying rounds and the 2024 Euro. The value represents an increase compared to the previous cycle, which distributed 70 million euros.
Real Madrid and Inter Milan were also significantly benefited, receiving 4.79 million euros and 4.65 million euros, respectively. Fund distribution was based on the release of players for each match of the competitions mentioned, as well as a fixed value per player per day during the final tournaments.
In addition to the major European clubs, the program has benefited smaller teams. For example, the 10th English Division Yorkshire Amateur received 7,300 euros.

He also stressed UEFA’s successful sharing philosophy, indicating that the benefit program proves that “When football thrives, everyone benefits”.
